Christine Viland was appointed a board member in Hægland & Svanberg in January 2019.
Christine has been marketing and communications manager in the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) since 2020. Between 2018 and 2020 she was communications director in Microsoft Norge AS.
From 2010 to 2018 she was communications director in Nordic Choice Hotels, with responsibility for building up the communications department from one to seven members of staff. She also acted as adviser, social media officer, and speech writer for hotelier Petter A. Stordalen in the same period. From 2007 to 2010, Christine worked at Geelmuyden.Kiese as a project manager and communications adviser for a wide range of clients in the private and public sectors.
Christine was a member of the Norwegian Press Association’s Commission for Freedom of Information from 2006 to 2008, a commission appointed to strengthen and uphold the principle of freedom of information. From 2004 to 2008 she was a director on the board of the Norwegian Local Radio Association, which represents 132 radio stations and works to improve conditions for local radio in Norway.
In 2006 Christine graduated with a master’s degree in sociology from the University of Oslo, where she also completed her bachelor’s degree in social sciences in 2002.
